Song Searches
A component of K12Searches.org, a demonstration project by Diana Spaulding and David Dodd
This search was created for 8th-grade students (ages 13-14) to help them find the lyrics and sound clips of songs from Colonial Days through the present day. It can be searched by personal name (e.g. Jackie Robinson), or by an historical event or period (e.g. Dust Bowl or Civil War); or by type of song (e.g. Spiritual).
General hints:
- To find sound files, add one of these words to your search: "audio," "recording," or "click."
- Add the word "timeline" to your search to find social context chronologically.
